The Role

We are seeking an experienced Genetec Specialist who understands that a security platform is only as strong as its design, configuration, integration, and long-term performance.

​

This is not a basic programming or commissioning role.

​

We are looking for a systems professional who can design, configure, optimize, troubleshoot, and support enterprise-level Genetec environments while serving as a technical resource for clients, project teams, technicians, and electricians.

​

This role combines system architecture, platform administration, integration, networking, troubleshooting, and client support.

​

Core Responsibilities

​

  • Configure, commission, maintain, and optimize Genetec Security Center environments

  • Design system architecture aligned with operational, client, and project requirements

  • Configure and support video management, access control, and integrated security platforms

  • Support SaaS, cloud-connected, and enterprise-level deployments

  • Integrate third-party hardware and software solutions

  • Troubleshoot complex software, networking, database, hardware, and integration issues

  • Support field technicians, electricians, project managers, and clients during installation and commissioning activities

  • Monitor system health, performance, and long-term reliability

  • Develop and maintain system standards, documentation, change logs, and configuration records

  • Assist with system upgrades, migrations, expansions, and lifecycle planning

  • Provide remote and on-site technical support as required

 

Technical Requirements

​

  • Demonstrated experience with Genetec Security Center

  • Strong understanding of enterprise video management systems and access control platforms

  • Experience with system integration and enterprise security environments

  • Strong networking knowledge including:

    • TCP/IP

    • VLANs

    • Routing fundamentals

    • Switching fundamentals

    • Network troubleshooting

  • Understanding of server environments, virtualization, storage, and system performance optimization

  • Ability to troubleshoot across software, hardware, database, and network layers

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 

Professional Requirements

  • Strong documentation and organizational skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, technicians, project managers, and stakeholders

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and complex technical issues

  • Self-directed and capable of working independently

  • Commitment to continuous learning and technical development

 

Manufacturer certifications, advanced Genetec certifications, networking certifications, or related technical credentials are considered strong assets.

Travel

​

  • Project-dependent travel required

  • Combination of remote work, office support, and field presence

  • Occasional out-of-province travel may be required

  • Client meetings, commissioning support, and technical troubleshooting may require on-site attendance
